The Power of Pentecost

Just this week, I was reminded of the how powerful and how significant the day of Pentecost really was. Jesus said to wait and not to go anywhere or do anything until the Holy Spirit arrives, and I believe it must’ve been pretty important for Jesus to say that. When Holy Spirit arrived and filled everyone so that fire appeared over them and they all spake with tongues, and I emphasize the word all, it was of great importance and significance. No one was left out, they all needed this equipping to be his witnesses and to do his works. When they were baptized in the Spirit, they were endowed with power from almighty God. They received everything they needed that day to be his witnesses in all the earth and they knew it. They boldly poured out onto the street and immediately began to manifest this power of God. Peter, who had once been afraid for his life before and denied Christ, received great boldness to preach the gospel in the streets of Jerusalem. This was the beginning of the church age as 3000 souls were added to the church In one day. If being filled with the Spirit weren’t important, he wouldn’t have said it. If tongues hadn’t been important, they wouldn’t have been given them. I had the occasion to arise this past week, where someone needed healing and then deliverance from demons, and then they were filled with the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and speaking with tongues. It didn’t even happen in church but it happened outside on a porch and It was the last thing I expected to be doing late one evening. I prayed in Jesus name and operated in his authority, but about 3/4’s of the time, I was praying in tongues and I found it was crucial to me as one thing after another happened in succession and the Holy Spirit gave me instruction as I did so, and prayed through me to accomplish this great work. Looking back now, I know I couldn’t have done so without the gift of tongues and obviously, the power of the Spirit to bring it to pass. If we are to bring this great harvest of souls in, we are gonna need to have a revelation of Pentecost and what we have really been equipped with. I believe this will happen on an increasing scale as God works to restore and reform his church. I only just realized today that this Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, so the timeliness of this miracle is not lost on me. God is a God of times and seasons and the season of the harvest is upon us, and I believe that God is bringing back the power of Pentecost to his church to accomplish this great end time harvest.
